Say I have layed a game to end 0-0 at full-time and one of the teams score a goal, why do they not release my winnings, as you need to wait for the football match to completely end before getting the funds returned?

The reason why is very simple. Payments are released on Betfair when markets fully close. So for example the correct score market does not close until the end of the match as people are still betting on it throughout the game. The betting exchange is not designed to pay out until the entire market closes. You will notice some markets you do get paid straight away, for example if you bet on over 2.5 goals and a 3rd goal is scored, this market immediately ends and winnings are paid even though the football match is still being played.

That makes sense now, it's because the market has to close at end of match for correct score. Appreciate ;)

I had the exact same question, now I see that for any funds to be released the complete market has to end...
