How to make a simple orange sauce, perfect for duck or chicken?
Looking for a simple orange sauce recipe. Have been ordering meals from my local Chinese takeaway which have a orange sauce as I really like the taste. Pretty expensive though, so looking to make my own orange sauce, any recipe suggestions.
This recipe for orange sauce is an excellent choice for duck or chicken dishes.
2000ml Chicken stock
75g Demera sugar
2 tbsp Cider vinegar
1 tbsp Cornflour
Grated zest from 2 large oranges
Juice from 2 large oranges
Place the chicken stock, vinegar, sugar, orange zest, and orange juice into a frying pan. Stir well and bring to the boil for around 10 minutes until reduced.
When your duck or chicken is cooked add the cornflour to the frying pan with 3 tablespoons of water, and stir frequently for around 5 minutes or until the orange sauce has thickened to your likening.
Drizzle the orange sauce over your meal. Enjoy.
