Curry & Co Sweet & Sour Chicken with Egg Fried Rice Review

I found the microwaveable Curry & Co Sweet & Sour Chicken with Egg Fried Rice meal quite good. The portion size was decent enough though I would have preferred the rice compartment to be smaller and a bigger chicken, pineapple, and sweet & sour sauce compartment.

Basically the amount of rice was too much, I had transferred over half the rice to the chicken section and it guzzled up all the sauce.

The taste was excellent, I found the sweet and sour sauce taste not too dissimilar to what you would expect from a Chinese takeaway.

The quantity of chicken and pineapple was a little on the stingy side, I think it was around 7 pieces of chicken which sounds great but the size of each one was a little on the tiny side, and I only recall I think 2 pieces of pineapple.

Cooking the meal in the microwave was simple enough from frozen. It took me 10 minutes in total. I pierced the top lid and cooked for 6 minutes and then peeled back the lid and added 2 tablespoons of water to the rice and stirred each compartment, and then I cooked for a further 4 minutes.

Microwave times vary based on the wattage of your microwave, and you can also cook this meal in the oven.

Overall I thought it was pretty nice and I would buy it again, but for me personally it was not enough for a main dinner, more like a light lunch, or as a dinner served with something else.

That ready meal looks nice, was it a supermarket you bought it from and if so what one?

I tried this ready meal too and enjoyed it. I would recommend instead of putting 2 tbsp of water to the rice do 4 tbsp. The first time with 2 tbsp I thought the rice was too dry, so next time I put 4 tbsp and the rice was much more moist and softer.
