Why does a book have a preface?
I just started reading after taking a break from it for quite some time. I have come across a few books now which have a preface. I have to admit that even though I enjoyed the books which had a preface, I found the preface rather dull and boring and not worthy of reading. Why does the author even include it?
The preface is included to let the reader know any interesting facts that the author thinks will help the reader understand why they wrote the book, or how the best way is to read the book. In some books the preface is really interesting and I always read it.
