Facts about Paul Cezanne?

Paul Cezanne was born in the year 1839. He died on the 22nd October 1906 at the age of 67.

He is considered to be the greatest of all French Post-Impressionist painters.

Paul Cezanne lived in France all his life, and he never tired of painting, particularly the landscape at his hometown of Province.

He was born at Aix-en-Provence and his childhood friend was Emile Zola who,as a writer, became as famous as Cezanne.His father wanted him to study law but he was determined to be an artist,so put all his time and effort into studying art.Artists like Picasso revered him and saw him as his one and only Master.

    • He was born January 19, 1839
    • He had two younger sisters – one named Marie the other named Rose.
    • His father’s name was called Louis-Auguste Cezanne.
    • His mother was called Anne Elisabeth Honorine Aubert.
    • Before he met Camille Pissarro he mostly painted dark pictures, and after, he was a post impressionist.
    • He married Marie Hortense Fiquet in the year of 1886 and had a son named Paul born in January 1872.
    • He died October 22, 1906, age 67, from Pneumonia.
